Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The route today took us from the just Drogheda area heading south in direction of the Liffey Valley stopping just north of Ashbourne.
The direction of travel was running parallel to the old north road N2 as we approached the many towns in the Asbourne area.
This was an area I new well during the 1990’s as my friend parents had their family home in the Ward area, with some close family still having homes close by.

Today’s cycle
First of all, it was again great to back on the saddle, in the previous two weeks I had been suffering some pain in effected areas along with cold related symptoms. So recently we took the opportunity to rest during.
This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse. You can read more about the why here.
Today’s cycle was a little bumpy with plenty of short hills, the largest being 6.9 %, thankfully there was nothing too steep or too long.
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
Keeping with gold theme, had decided to select the Celtic away top from the season prior to the Centenary year, which Celtic wore on games up to 31st December 1987, from January the strip would be adapted with the amazing Centenary badge.
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the “The Road to Lisbon” cycling kit from from the 50th Anniversary Charity cycle in 2017
