Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where we aim to provide regular updates of the challenge Mouldy Goes to Seville
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The cycle route today was following the route through from Guadarrama to San Lorenzo De El Escorial
The direction of travel was running south, we had made good in roads into the descent from the top of the Iberian Peninsula, and of the Central Plateau
On this session we had descended into the region of 3200 feet above sea level
The cycle continued through the autonomous region Community of Madrid
The route, including the climbing had some similarities of the route from Santander and the R2L in 2017, up onto the Spanish plains. (Lovely memories of the R2L Team and beautiful country of Spain)
We enclose a screen shot/s from bkool application of routes/ sessions

From Strava we enclose screen shots of what was achieved in this session
Today’s cycle
Prior to the cycle today I had experienced some challenges in recent months.
With medical advise received, determined that that rest would be my best friend
During today we made an initial short cycle in time to help ease myself into the cycle today, that is especially after 4 sessions from yesterday being pretty long.
The landscape in this session related to an initial climb with a matched descent before commencing a further climb, where our data reflects that we will have a long 5 mile to climb to come after lunch !
This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse. You can read more about the why here.
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore I decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
Keeping with the theme of goalkeeper shirt’s, I wore the Black Goalkeeper shirt from Season 2017 / 2018 by New Balance
This shirt brings back special memories as it is one of the goalkeeper shirts which was worn during the 7 in a row season.
We also won a double treble that season, this also contributed to the a second the nine in a row.
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the lime green away and the hooped green away shirt also by New Balance from the same season.
The 50 th Anniversary of Lisbon badge also from season 2017/2018 was visible on each of the shirts
Kit = 2017 2018 – Celtic – Goalkeeper shirt – Black
