20240314 Mouldy Goes to Seville – MGS Session 039

Folks,

Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”

In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here

Todays route

The route today saw us depart from Briviesca which was also the start of Day 8 of the Cycle when team made this during May 2023

The direction of travel was running south with further climbing up onto the Spanish plains

Again like previous session, the route had some similarities to the climbing from Santander during the R2L in 2017, onto the Spanish plains (Lovely memories of R2L Team and beautiful country of Spain)

We enclose a screen shot/s from bkool application of planned routes/ sessions

From Strava we enclose screen shots of what was achieved in this session

Today’s cycle

Prior to the cycle today we had experienced some challenges during December, January and February.

With medical advise received, determined that that rest would be my best friend

Again, today’s cycle was very much about getting back on the bike and establishing if there would be adverse reaction/s and therefore had decided to keep the cycle short, especially as we encounter some tweaks (Safety first approach taken)

The gradients today were a constant climb with some short 8.0 percent gradients

This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse. You can read more about the why here.

Today’s kit

Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.

Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future

Recognising that we are approaching St Patrick’s weekend, we had decided to wear the Celtic “origins” shirt by Adidas for season 2023/2024

The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of some official goalkeeper shirts also from season 2023/2024
