Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The route today took us from Poligono to Murita
The direction of travel was running south up through the Cantabrian mountain range.
The route will see us climb through Parque Natural de Monte Santiago, reaching Puerto de Orduna at 2955 feet !
Again like previous session, the route had some similarities to the climbing from Santander during the R2L in 2017, onto the Spanish plains
We enclose a screen shot/s from bkool application of planned routes/ sessions

Today’s cycle
The short version is that today’s climb was Brutal and it was also a relief in getting it done !
It was relentless climb up through the Cantabrian mountain range,
We had a continuous climb 14 miles constant climbing, before a descent just over 3.3 miles.
There were was many long climbs of 9 % and 11 % with some zig zags thrown in towards the end, the worst being on the straight stretch at 16.7 %
Looking ahead, we can expect significantly more climbing until we are up on the Spanish plains.
I am very pleased that I rested yesterday as this I felt helped today.
This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse. You can read more about the why here.
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
Keeping with gold / luminous theme, we had decided to wear the The Road to Lisbon – Retro T shirt 2017
I had chosen this top as today’s cycles would bring back many memories of what would be ahead of me today.
Most notably the continuous climbing & very clod weather., which was similar to our Lisbon teams climbing out of Santander in May 2017
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the “The Road to Lisbon” cycling shirt’s from from the 50th Anniversary Charity cycle in 2017
