Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The route today took us South West from Mains wood (Inland from Girvan) heading in the direction of Ballantrae, utilising the forestry roads avoiding the A77
We enclose a screen shot from my lap top which I had positioned on a music stand close to the bike which provides a high level view of the route and the expected landscape.
Progress in this session
From Strava we enclose a screen shot of what was achieved in this session
Today’s cycle
With the recent rehab work focusing on time on the bike as opposed to speed or climbing, then the past few days had been fairly tough introducing climbing !
In parts today the cycle was similar to yesterday’s grind and was brutal at times with worst of the climbs being punchy 6.7 %
Today we broke some new milestones with time elapsed being at over 115 minutes and cycle again exceeding 20 miles !
In coming days we can expect more climbing and more burning in the quads !
Last evening we visited the miracle worker physio to learn that there is some muscle spasms in effected areas, therefore in coming days we will just need to monitor the situation
We keep going !
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
On Wednesday we played in the Champions league, therefore thought that it was appropriate to wear the modern day version of the amazing hoops from around 1967
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of short sleeve “gold” t-shirts from “The Road to Lisbon 2017”
Kit = 2023 – 120 years of the hoops – Vintage 1967 design
