Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where we aim to provide regular updates on the progress of the Road to Milan cycle challenge
The Road to Milan – Day 01 – Part 01 – Hotel to St Jakob Park, Basel.
After an early breakfast the cyclists made the short 1.5 mile cycle to St Jakob Park, Basel where some photographs both inside and outside the stadium had been taken
Through the years, there have been some memorable games against Basel. In 1969, we kicked off the famous Road to Milan European Cup journey with a goalless draw. In 1974, Celtic lost 3–2 on the night but progressed 6–5 on aggregate, which put them into the 1974 European Cup semi-final against the villains from Madrid. In more recent times, a Champions League qualifier was lost, which led to the run to Seville in the UEFA Cup in 2002/2003
