20240723 Mouldy Goes to Seville – Conclusion of cycle.

My name is Paul Muldoon, I am a member of the Global Celtic Family and am a keen cyclist.

I organised the successful cycle by 30 Celtic supporters to Lisbon in 2017 and was planning to cycle to Seville in 2023, being the 20^th anniversary of Celtic playing there in the UEFA Cup Final.  However, due to chronic back, neck, and significant nerve pain I sadly had to withdraw. I was able to make a small contribution by being part of the support team helping to co-ordinate and promote social media throughout the past few months.

I am now recovering and back in the saddle and I plan to cycle the 1,050 miles and 59,275 feet of climbing from Glasgow via Ireland to Seville. I won’t be fast, but I will get there. I will be making the journey virtually using some sophisticated software and will post regular updates.

The Seville team have raised a phenomenal £96.6 K and I would like to help raise much-needed funds for Celtic FC Foundation. I am very proud of the work that our Foundation does to help many people in the community locally and internationally.

Post cycle update

Following on from recent blogs, I am delighted to announce that I have completed the virtual cycle from Celtic Park, Glasgow to the Estadio La Cartuja de Sevilla.

The cycle encompassed 1014 miles, 58,308 feet of climbing, 5100 minutes of activity

During the evolution of the cycle there were times when I was met with some health challenges.

When these challenges arose, I took medical  advice and  took time to rest before picking the cycle back up when fit do so.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who had supported and encouraged me throughout the cycle.

As one of the objectives of the cycle was to raise funds for the Foundation, I can confirm that my fundraising page will remain live until the end of this month.
