Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The route today took us from the team base at Glendalough through to Coolbawn
The direction of travel was running south through the Wicklow Mountains in direction of County Wexford
The route passed through the park and the “Shaw Elliot Car Park” – Irish cycling legend
We enclose a screen shot/s from bkool application of planned routes/ sessions
Session 021 Route
Progress in this session
From Strava we enclose screen shots of what was achieved in this session
Today’s cycle
Seen us make the another ascent within the Wicklow Mountains
Today the cycle was made up of two decent sized climbs, the first 8 kilometers was brutal.
After some benefit of the descent we where met with another long climb ranging from 8 percent to 12 percent
Overall in this session we had climbed 1453 feet, some of the shorter cycles last week appear to have helped with preperation
This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse. You can read more about the why here.
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
Keeping with gold theme, we had decided to select the gold away shirt from 2019-2020 aka the “Beam me up scotty shirt”
At times today I could have done with being beamed up and transferred to the end of the “Wicklow Mountains”
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop from a selection of “celtic cycling top’s”
Kit = 2019-2020 – Gold away – short sleeves aka “beam me up scotty”
