20231101 Mouldy Goes to Seville – MGS Session 012

Folks,

Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”

In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here

Todays route

The route today took us from north of Dunleer beyond Drogheda heading south in the direction of the Dublin and the Wicklow Mountains.

This replicates the route which my friends from “The Road to Seville” team had taken enroute to Glendalough

From Strava we enclose a screen shot of what was achieved in this session

Today’s cycle

Having recently suffered some physical reactions and coming down with a cold at the same time, we had taken decision to rest during previous two weeks

Therefore it was pleasing to be able to contribute some miles today in order to keep going

This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse.

Like session 011, todays cycle saw minor climbing which was welcomed, as we have knowledge of having to climb through the Wicklow mountains which are reserved for later !

Today’s kit

Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.

Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future

As it was a little colder today and keeping with Celtic cycling theme, had decided to select “The Road To Lisbon” long sleeve fleecy/hoody.

The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the “The Road to Lisbon” “gold” t-shirts from from the 50th Anniversary Charity cycle in 2017
