20231022 Mouldy Goes to Seville – MGS Session 010

Folks,

Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”

In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here

Todays route

The route today took us from the just north of Newry to Dundalk.

In replicating the route which my friends from “The Road to Seville” team had made the route and took a diversion from the big roundabout and down the hill into the town, where the amazing tribute to the great Willie Maley was recently unveiled.

When the team had made the cycle on R2S day two, this was also the same day in which Celtic had played Hearts at Tynecastle to win the league.

Later today Celtic will also play Hearts where we will be hoping for the Champions to get another away win – come on the hoops !

Today’s cycle

First of all it was great to get back on the saddle, recently I had been suffering some pain in effected areas and we took the opportunity to rest.

This cycle is all about gradually building myself up, with a focus on sustainability where we hope to avoid any major injury relapse.

Todays cycle was rather bumpy with plenty of short hills, the largest being 9.8 %, thankfully some of the hills whilst steep where shorter in length.

Today’s kit

Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.

Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future

Keeping with gold theme, had decided to select the Celtic away top “retro version” from the season prior to the Centenary year, which Celtic wore on games up to 31st December 1987, from January the strip would be adapted with the amazing Centenary badge.

The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the “The Road to Lisbon” cycling kit from from the 50th Anniversary Charity cycle in 2017
