Folks,
Thank you for visiting the site where aim to provide regular updates of the challenge “Mouldy Goes to Seville”
In earlier sessions we explained how we would simulate the cycle, you can read about it here
Todays route
The route today took us South West from Ballantrae heading in the direction of Cairnryan Port, avoiding some of the A77. It was inevitable that we would require to use A77 where 13 kms cycled, on a stretch of road which is up there with the A9 as being one of the scariest stretches of road.
After reaching Cairnryan we picked the cycled back up in Belfast docks before heading to the team hotel close by.
Cycling on these roads today brought back some lovely memories of similar cycles when these road had been utilised, “Brother Walfrid’s home in Ballymote to Celtic Park 2012″ “Cycle for Wee Oscar to Belfast in 2013“ and “Cycling Santas from London to Belfast in memory of Wee Oscar 2014“

Today’s cycle
With the recent rehab work focusing on time on the bike as opposed to speed or climbing, then the past few days had been fairly tough introducing climbing !
In parts today the cycle was similar to yesterday’s where we again endured some hills.
Today they seemed less of a grind than yesterday, breaking the cycle up into two sessions helped a little
In coming days we can expect more climbing and more burning in the quads !
We keep going !
Today’s kit
Focusing on comfort and the fact that I am a big frame, tight lycra is currently not my friend.
Therefore we decided to wear something more comfortable from the Celtic shirt collection and plan to do so for the foreseeable future
As Celtic are playing Kilmarnock today, thoughts of Tommy Burns came to mind so decided to ware the “Bumble bee strip” which the four amigos wore against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park
The kit is pictured below with a pleasant backdrop of the “White” kit from from “The Road to Lisbon 2017”
Kit = 1996/1997 – Celtic Away – “AKA Bumblebee”
